It's from Yahoo! Answers, but that's not important, it's one of the thing you can see at discussions and answer sites again and again. My goal is to collect the most common stupid things you can find. Reactions to such things that explains why such claims are wrong / what the reality is are welcome. So next time we can just look here and use it and we can make a list of the common myths.

Pedophilia has certain aspects of an OCD, because pedophiles certainly obsess about sex with children and feel a compulsion to act out, which they sometimes cannot resist.

Adults who sexually abuse children are paedophiles. Paedophilia is a real phenomenon, where adults get sexually excited by, and enjoy the total domination involved in, having sex with a child. They find the innocence and purity of the children sexually exciting and enjoy defiling them. They enjoy the absolute powerlessness of the child as they carry out their sexual abuse. They are sexual predators and are a danger to society. They are usually very manipulative, deceitful and conniving.

Men with pedophile tendencies usually do not have the communication skills to talk/get with women their own age, they are usually socially awkward and looking for a chance to be dominant and confident in their own skin with someone who is younger and less experienced.

In fact, as Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) noted during an April 23 House Judiciary Committee hearing, the term "sexual orientation" is already defined by federal statute as applying only to "consensual homosexuality or heterosexuality," thereby excluding pedophiles, who engage in nonconsensual sexual relationships with children.

Is there really something as stupid as that? Or is that Tammy Baldwin or the author of this article? Homosexuality and heterosexuality are sexual orientations and they don't ask people, if they want to have them. Really, they don't. Or does that mean, that people, who are not satisfied with their sexual orientation, doesn't have one legally? And how is that exluding pedophiles, who engage in nonconsensual sexual relationships with children. Is that also excluding pedophiles, who don't engage in such relationships?

The paedophilia is a disease and people who are sick of this disease have only a few chances to look at children without a personal touch with them. The child pornography gives them an opportunity to do it. This is the main reason why child pornography is a such a good business for some people.

I think the Czech Republic has acceptable legislation of child pornography. The most positive thing is the growing will to fight against this undesirable phenomenon.
